Making Autism Cases Count (MACC)
This information is for homeopaths, GAPS and CEASE therapists treating patients of any age with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs)
This project aims to collect routine data from therapists seeing patients with autism spectrum disorders.
We need to collect data from as many therapists (and their patients) as possible, and then combine all this information together. This will help us understand what is going on in practice. All this information will be anonymised, summarised and counted in 2018, and will in the future be used to inform research into how best treat patients with ASD.
How you can take part
When you see a new patient who has an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis, ask the patient (or their carer) to complete the ATEC in English online questionnaire. This can be found near the bottom of the on-line Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist page. The checklist and online questionnaire is hosted by the Autism Research Institute: http://www.autism.com. More information about the ATEC can be found here.
The results of the ATEC online questionnaire are automatically computed and emailed to the patient. Ask your patient to forward you those results. The results will consist of a total score and 4 sub scores.
Complete the Making Autism Cases Count Sheet.
Repeat this process every 6 months
